Held under the guidance of the Commonwealth Secretariat, the conference carried the theme “Strengthening Regional Integrity Efforts and Anti-Corruption Mechanisms in an Evolving Global Environment.” It was hosted with the support of Jamaica’s Integrity Commission, the Major Organized Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency, and the Revenue Protection Department.

The conference’s mandate included discussing and embracing new approaches aimed at strengthening the independence, capacity, and effectiveness of anti-corruption institutions across the region. Throughout the event, delegates provided reports on their integrity activities over the past year and benefited from presentations/conversations on topics covering; emerging threats in anti-corruption, strengthening integrity with artificial intelligence and digital as well as investigation challenges and best practices.

As a result of the event, delegates adopted resolutions across ten priority areas: strengthening legal and constitutional safeguards for anti-corruption bodies; reinforcing institutional governance; protecting the operational autonomy of investigations; securing sustainable and independent financing; investing in staff training and professional development; deepening regional and international cooperation; improving asset declaration and compliance systems; promoting public transparency and trust; ensuring the long-term sustainability of the CCAICACB itself, including the establishment of a permanent secretariat; and a formal call to action urging governments, parliaments, civil society, media, and development partners to uphold institutional independence.

Delegates affirmed that protecting institutional independence is a shared responsibility requiring sustained commitment across government, civil society, and the private sector, and reaffirmed their collective resolve to build anti-corruption institutions across the Caribbean that are resilient, credible, and capable of delivering justice and accountability.
