Dr. Johan E. Datema is a Member of the Integrity Chamber of Sint Maarten, appointed by the Government of Sint Maarten in 2025 to serve a 3 year term.

Datema brings more than four decades of medical and public service experience to the Integrity Chamber. He holds a Master’s Degree in Medicine from Erasmus University Rotterdam and began his career as Chief Medical Officer on Saba, where he oversaw the establishment of essential healthcare services and the opening of the island’s hospital in 1980.

He served as a General Practitioner on Sint Maarten for 38 years and has been an active contributor to the medical community, including more than 30 years as Treasurer of the Windward Islands Medical Association (WIMA). He continues to serve on several advisory bodies, including the APS Advisory Committee and the Medical Disciplinary Board.

Dr. Datema combines his role as Member with management positions in the private sector, bringing a wealth of practical experience, ethical insight, and community commitment to the Chamber’s mission of strengthening integrity in Sint Maarten.
