Integrity Chamber Provides Integrity Session to the Unified Sint Maarten Party

Integrity Chamber Provides Integrity Session to the Unified Sint Maarten Party

The Integrity Chamber provided the candidates and board members of the United Sint Maarten Party [hereafter: USP] with an integrity session on July 5, 2023. The session provided information on the Integrity Chamber and its tasks, the importance of integrity for the party and the individual, tips on how integrity can be promoted and maintained within the party, and the benefits of integrity within the electoral process.

The USP was invited to partake in this integrity session as part of the Integrity Chamber’s public awareness campaign. As the 2024 elections draw near, it is important that candidates that will be contesting the upcoming elections are sufficiently aware that they may potentially be faced with decisions that affect the quality of the lives of the people of Sint Maarten.

During the session, with the use of various scenarios, discussions were stimulated concerning how decisions can be taken in a manner that safeguards the integrity of the individual, the government, and the country. Topics discussed were the sharing of confidential information, maintaining an honest reputation, placing the interests of society over personal interests, etc. Aside from the lively discussion, questions concerning the work and authorities of the Integrity Chamber were also asked and answered.

The Integrity Chamber expressed gratitude to the USP for accepting the invitation and making the effort to foster integrity within their party and looks forward to continually supporting the community with similar endeavours.
